The 3 Faced One:
New Land Ritual I

Clay sculpture with hair, blood and obsidian + ritual praxis

La Forêt de Sézanne, France
April 2024

This is a developing project that is being written into the book 'The 3 Faced One: A World Ensouled' so I will not give too much details.

This is based off an experience I've had developing ways to connect with land through the 3 Faced One as symbol of my body. I have in the town of Sézanne, France from Feb - June, 2024 and wanted to introduce myself and create psychic connection with the forest as a form of ritual-art praxis.

I created 3 talismans of self from clay and parts of self added to 3 Faced One (blood, hair and obsidian crystal to represent the dark Dao core of the heart) and placed them in the forest.

Over the 3 months, I connected to each 3 Faced One to receive information and guidance of what to do next. Details will not be shared conclusively, however, senses activated and visions were received, including for 3 days I checked in with the blood 3 Faced One with my gut senses from my home and I could see grotesque beastly faces. On the 4th day I went to the forest to check on it and it was gone. I can only assume nocturnal animals of the forest could smell the blood and it was licked and taken, torn and dissolved in the belly of animals never to be found.

One day I went to check the heart 3 Faced One and found a spider web had completely covered it - perhaps the web can be seen in the picture below. I read into this as the heart as web like spider potential to connect to the great web of life. The spider in soil weaves the web of the heart, she catches and devours moments which birth new webs.

The beauty of creating talismans as these is that I have a cellular remembrance of the place on the land they were made home in, this is a useful development for the 3 Faced One project and my connection to many lands on earth through each sculpture.

Below are some images captured and a video of myself creating the 3 Faced One clay sculptures to a soundscape I created in GarageBand.
