about becoming myth

we are all in the process of becoming. becoming whole. becoming strange. becoming true.

my name is anatolia, the name of my grandmother ανατÏŒλη, meaning sunrise in the east, and i am a life long apprentice in stories that point their twisted fingers at the magical dynamics that exist in the unseen worlds that guide our material world.

when the veil of reality drops and we realise that we are living our story, within cultural stories, within greater cosmic stories, we realise we are always 'becoming myth' with every passing breath connected to body, earth and stars.

born to pontian-greek parents, raised on the ancient wurundjeri land of melbourne, australia and now based in rural france, i have always navigated between different worlds of land, artistic practices and trance states. this perspective—of the migrant, the outsider, the one who tends multiple hearths—informs everything i do. it taught me that true belonging isn't about a single place or art practice, but about the depth of our conversation with the body we live in and the earth we live on.

i have been running events in creativity, wellness, storytelling, sacred sexuality and magical practice for 10 years as well as creating performance art showcasing at events in europe and australia.

my training has been shaped by mentors and traditions in the fields of clowning, storytelling, singing, performance, temple arts and magical practice.

formally, i hold a BA in politics & ancient cultures (unimelb) and a MA in communications & project management (RMIT). i spent half of my 20s working in policy and communications for the victorian education department, which showed me the profound disconnect between our systems and the health of both people and planet.

in 2018, i left that world and began a 5 year stewardship of 40 acres of dry, brittle country land in heathcote—an olive grove and vineyard that taught me more about care, cycles, and resilience than any institution ever could.

all i create is underscored by my belief that the blooming of modernity must be rooted in land listening for our species and ecosystems to thrive. since my time in heathcote, i have moved to france, but still travel to greece, the uk, australia and wherever else calls to run events. â€‹

at the heart of my creations, from art, to writing, to storytelling containers, is my fascination and honouring of how trance states of rituals can inform our life and transform us.
